The six industry standards for solar thermal utilization approved by the National Energy Administration are: Technical Requirements for Household Solar Heating Systems in Northern Rural Areas, Performance Testing and Evaluation Methods for Household Solar Heating Systems in Northern Rural Areas, Energy Saving Calculation Methods and Data Transmission Interface Technical Requirements for Solar Thermal Energy Systems, Real-time Monitoring Technical Specifications for Solar Thermal Energy Systems, Technical Requirements for Household Solar Heat Pump Hot Water Systems, and Performance Testing and Evaluation Methods for Household Solar Heat Pump Hot Water Systems.

Wang Zhengyuan, Executive Vice President of the China Rural Energy Industry Association, delivered a speech.

The formulation of standards is crucial to product quality, and quality is fundamental to the survival of enterprises in the industry. Currently, with the decline in the single-unit market for solar energy, focusing on quality is more important than simply pursuing quantity. This is the only way to improve capabilities and prepare for the next opportunity in the industry. In recent years, smog has been rampant, and from a national perspective, there are extremely high requirements for winter heating methods in northern China. Two of the six standards initiated this time are related to solar heating, which will play a positive role in smog control. "We hope that all participating companies can consider the industry as a whole, transcend their own company's perspective, and participate fairly and reasonably. The overall indicators should not be lower than the average level of enterprises. We hope everyone will cooperate to guide the industry to develop in a normal way in the coming years," Wang Zhengyuan expressed his feelings about the standard-setting process.

Zhang Xiaoli, Director of the Solar Thermal Utilization Professional Committee of the China Rural Energy Industry Association, delivered a speech.

Zhang Xiaoli provided a detailed explanation of the significance of the six standards. The standards "Technical Requirements for Household Solar Heating Systems in Northern Rural Areas" and "Performance Testing and Evaluation Methods for Household Solar Heating Systems in Northern Rural Areas" emphasize air pollution control, a matter of great concern to various national ministries and commissions, and a past weakness of the industry. Establishing sound standards for household solar heating will play a crucial role in the future of solar heating. The standards "Energy Saving Calculation Methods and Data Transmission Interface Technical Requirements for Solar Thermal Energy Systems" and "Real-time Monitoring Technical Specifications for Solar Thermal Energy Systems" are also significant. For a long time, many companies in the solar thermal industry have complained about the lack of national policy subsidies. Director Zhang Xiaoli has repeatedly raised this issue with relevant national departments. Leaders pointed out that solar thermal differs from photovoltaics in that it involves electricity metering at the user end. The solar thermal industry provides more production management data than user-end data, which is a major shortcoming of the industry. Last year's annual meeting focused on project evaluation, and the activities revealed that without standardized and unified "Internet+" practices and standards, evaluations would lack a solid foundation. The development of these two standards is therefore of great significance. The standards "Technical Requirements for Household Solar Heat Pump Water Heating Systems" and "Performance Testing and Evaluation Methods for Household Solar Heat Pump Water Heating Systems" solve the problem of combining solar energy and heat pumps. Without standards, there is no level of measurement, and it is unclear under what conditions testing should be conducted, leading to the awkward situation of mutual blame. The formulation of these two standards fills a gap in the industry.
