According to a press conference held by the Shandong Provincial People's Government Information Office on July 7, Shandong will implement the "Industrial Green Power" plan and an energy conservation and environmental protection upgrading project to promote energy conservation and emission reduction in the industrial sector.

　　The "Industrial Green Power" plan mainly includes two parts: first, implementing a demonstration project for high-efficiency pulverized coal boilers; and second, implementing a project for the application of new energy thermal collection systems.

　　Regarding the energy conservation and environmental protection upgrading project, Shandong has formulated and issued the "13th Five-Year Plan" for the development of the energy conservation and environmental protection industry, researched and promoted a number of energy-saving and environmental protection equipment and technologies, and releases a catalog of 100 key energy-saving and environmental protection technologies and equipment for promotion each year.

　　In the first half of the year, the Shandong Provincial Energy Conservation Office, together with eight departments including the Provincial Development and Reform Commission and the Environmental Protection Department, jointly issued the "Shandong Province High-Efficiency and Environmentally Friendly Pulverized Coal Boiler Promotion Action Plan (2016-2018)". By 2018, a total of 25,000 tons of high-efficiency and environmentally friendly pulverized coal boilers will be promoted, the application rate of pulverized coal boilers will reach 65%, the average thermal efficiency of pulverized coal boilers will reach 87%, and annual energy savings of 1.8 million tons of standard coal will be achieved.

　　Shandong will implement a number of key energy conservation and environmental protection projects, construct a number of energy conservation and environmental protection industrial parks and bases, promote industrial agglomeration and large-scale enterprise development, and build 50 energy conservation and environmental protection industrial parks and bases with prominent locational advantages and high concentration, creating a collective brand for Shandong's energy conservation and environmental protection bases. By 2020, the province's energy conservation and environmental protection industry aims to achieve an output value exceeding one trillion yuan.
