Shandong government will fully implement green standards for construction invest
Li Xingjun, Deputy Director of the Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development of Shandong Province, recently stated that since 2014, new buildings invested by various levels of government in Shandong Province or mainly invested by the government will fully implement green building standards.
Li Xingjun introduced that in April of this year, the Shandong Provincial Government issued the "Implementation Opinions on Vigorously Promoting Green Building Action", advocating the implementation of green construction action throughout the province, guiding urban and rural construction with green, circular, and low-carbon concepts. It also requires that from 2014, government invested or mainly government invested government office buildings, public welfare buildings, affordable housing, and public buildings with a single area of more than 20000 square meters fully implement green building standards.
Green buildings have relevant standards, which aim to maximize resource conservation (energy conservation, land conservation, water conservation, material conservation), protect the environment, and reduce pollution throughout the entire life cycle of a building. They provide healthy, suitable, and efficient spaces for people to use, and are built in harmony with nature.
